Pence Passed the House

February 18, 2011

Outrage doesn’t begin to describe this feeling.

Call your Congressmember NOW to tell them how offensive this vote is: 240 members of the House of Representatives believe it is acceptable to completely cut Planned Parenthood off from all federal funding, putting the health and lives of 5 million Americans at risk.

And now your regularly scheduled news digest for the week…

The current disaster in a nutshell.

Apparently state legislators have also lost their minds: witness South Dakota, Ohio, Missouri.

Some of the wonderful speakers in support of Planned Parenthood in the House debate on the Pence amendment last night:

Representative Nita Lowey

Representative Louise Slaughter

Representative Jackie Speier

Representative Jan Schakowski

Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Representative Gwen Moore

Representative Frank Pallone

Lest we forget, today’s budget bill vote is not the only bad thing for women in the House.  They also want to stop insurance coverage of birth control (yes, you read that right.)

Showcase your outrage with us next Saturday: use that angry energy to get everyone you know to join us.  Rally for Women’s Health, Saturday 2/26, 1-3pm, Foley Square.  If you’re not in the NY area, look for a local Walk for Choice or set one up yourself.

Thank you for posting these videos! I’ve been looking for them so I can share them out to the NARAL Pro-Choice New York community.
