It’s Thanksgiving!  And despite certain problems with the outcomes of the election, we at Power Politics Sex have quite a bit to be thankful for:

  • Sex
  • Proper Attire Condoms
  • Rachel Maddow
  • Pro-choice Governors and Governors-elect
  • Jon Stewart
  • New York and the handful of other states that DON’T restrict young women’s access to   confidential reproductive health care services – including abortion care.
  • The Clintons
  • The Human Rights Campaign
  • Real sex education
  • Republicans for Choice
  • Health care reform
  • The pro-choice members of our Congressional delegation – Nita Lowey, Tim Bishop, Steve Israel, Eliot Engel, and John Hall
  • Catholics for Choice
  • EMILY’s List
  • The White House Project
  • Family planning funding – that’s right, government money for birth control rocks!
  • Gail Collins
  • Aspen Baker
  • Jessica Valenti
  • Sarah Palin, because without her help, we could be calling Christine O’Donnell, Joe Miller, and Sharon Angle “Senator” in January
  • Feministing, RH Reality Check, and all the other wonderful blogs out there that keep us so well informed
  • Everyone who’s signed the birth control matters petition (hint, hint)
  • Every volunteer and supporter of Planned Parenthood and like-minded organizations who spends any amount of time educating their friends and family about reproductive health and rights
  • All the people who vote pro-choice
  • You, dear blog reader!
  • And of course – very seriously – we’re always happy for family and friends.

So what are you thankful for this season?  Leave your lists and thank-you’s in comments.  And have fun over the holiday weekend!
